Shaykh Muhammad bin Hādī al-Madkhali (May Allah preserve him) said:
"It is an obligation upon every person of intellect to accept advice from his brother when he gives it to him, clarifies the mistake to him, makes it clear to him and gives him evidence regarding it. And it is not permissible for him to show arrogance in terms of the advice and be led by his pride into sin, just as it is not permissible for the first (the one advising) to remain silent while he sees his brother upon a mistake. For indeed the one who advises you, is the one who loves you. Why is this?! Because he loves for you what he loves for himself and he dislikes for you what he dislikes for himself; (whether) in religious matters or worldly matters."
